I think they came with 3.07 in 84'.
Most will tell you not to get 3,73, but I will pm you a video of an 84 with 3.73 gears, and at higher rpm range you decide if you think they are too much. The guy is usually on another forum I think, so you could even contact him.

It depends on where your engine makes its power. I have an updated 350 with a tunnel ram running 2 340 Holley carbs. I don't start to make power until it hits 2800 rpm. So 3.75 gears do work well for me.

yea id like to see that video...... and with gears in an automatic is it better to have a stall converter or is that just for the strip?
the car has the stock 350 and true duallies no cats and the k&n air filter that's all for work....... tryin to get the best BANG for my buck!
