I just bought a 1984 corvette and the car has no transmission detent kickdown bracket does anyone know where I can find one?

And I need a side and overhead pictures of the bracket on the intake
with the air cleaner removed so I can see how it's setup.. the pictures can be off a 82 corvette and 3rd gen camaro/firebird as well..

and my speedometer does not work and it's not the dash is there a fuse?

and my converter stays locked..

and can you adjust the wheel bearings?...thanks ....

Check in the parts for sale section. You should also start a thread over there as well.

Lotsa L83 guys here, they will help ya out.

There is an active thread on the speedo in the Tech section. I dont think there is a seperate fuse but there are a couple of sensors that the speedo relies on to display. If the lcd lights and reads zero, they are probly to blame. If you have no display the lcd may be bad. Heres a link to digidash info and its 84 based.

Not sure of your converter, I have a M4+3.

Rear bearings are an assembly, no rebuilding or adjustment, sorry. Jack up the rear wheel, grab at 12 and 6 oclock and if you have more than an 1/8" play up and down, the assembly needs replacement. Get yer wallet ready.

Congrats on your new Vette and welcome to the Forum. Lotsa great folks here to help ya out. Use the Search function, most things have been covered and you will probly find your answer in a short time.

Good Luck!

BTW, all 4 bearings are sealed assemblies. And yes, they are expensive.

Welcome. The folks above kinda nailed it. One thing however, the 700R4 doesn't have a kick down like the TH350 and TH 400. That cable is the TV (Throttle Valve) cable which controls shift points. If the TV cable is not properly adjusted some serious damage to the transmission can and will happen.
