87 Trans
Lost the trans in my 87 coupe the other day. Put it in gear and the motor revs but the car goes nowhere at first then it slowly starts to roll.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ed

First one is that it might be helpful to know if it's an automatic or manual...

They are in his home state. Everything up there costs an arm and a leg.

MA like CA is just leading the way. That's going to be "spread around" to the rest of us soon enough.

First thing to do is check the fluid level. If the filter is clogged, fell down or cracked, it could be sucking air.
If the car works fine in reverse, this is not likely the case.
If you have no forward, or reverse check the fluid level with the engine off, then start it and check again. If the level stays the same the pump broke, the flexplate bolts fell out, or the converter broke.
