Is there no manufacture that makes them? I was told i can use a Single but it sounds like the transmission is chewing on marbles.
whats my best bet? find a junkyard vette and grab one?
I had mine rebuilt. The name of the place was Carolina clutch & Brake. They build clutch systems for very heavy duty applications. Such as trucks and race cars. Real good guy.
Do a search, I posted the info about him on another thread and their where a few that contacted him.
(BTW: Funny how a happy, Thumbs-up Jesus is offensive, But a tortured, hanging from a cross Jesus is not. )

I was told that it can be machined or something like that and re surfaced to look like new but it wont preform exactly like new.
Question : If i replace the clutch should i replace or rebuild the DMF?

You will need to look at it and see what shape it is in first. Some people don't replace them. I did mine because it looked burnt.
I don't know how he rebuilt my flywheel, but it looked like brand new when I got it back. Real top notch job. At first I was told their is NO way to rebuild a DM flywheel. I had planed on re-using mine because I didn't have the money to replace it. And when he offered to rebuild mine, I thought he would change his mind when he seen it was not a normal flywheel to re-surface. But he knew all about the DM flywheel. Apparently a few heavy duty trucks use a DM flywheel as well.
It was just over $300 for the rebuilt flywheel, new zoom clutch disk, through out berring and pilot bushing for my 94. In the other thread someone mentioned that he wanted $275 for everything with a stock replacement clutch disk I believe.
BTW: You do have a corvette, right? Below your name it says you have a 97 camaro. The camaro's have a T56 not a ZF6.

Thanks for info. uhhh i have 2 cars. Why would i be on corvette forum with a camaro? haha
Back to my original question do you know if anyone makes DMF's?

You would be suprized what we get here. Last week a guy was selling an LT1 and 6-speed out of a "96" for $1000 for both. Had everyone going nuts because they thought it was an LT4 with the ZF6 form a 96 corvette. Turned out being a 96 F-body.
I don't know of anywhere to buy a new duel mass other then ebay.
Can you give me a phone for Carolina Clutch & Brake. I found a listing in Hickory, NC. They say they don't rebuild them.

Hard to believe you couldn't find it. I found the website with one search and the post by lushdrunk (that he mentioned above) with one search. It's the thread where you replied to lushdrunk the first time he posted this info! (It includes the phone -- which matches the website I found.) BTW, there are two Carolina Clutch companies.
Sorry about that. I did not see that this thread pop back up until now.
GREGGPENN said it best, Just do a search. I don't have their phone number or info. They are in Asheville NC.Should be zip code 28806. I honestly surprised to find their is only one more with the same name. Everything here is "Carolina something"
And I'm real real surprised they have a web site. The guy I met looked just like like Billy Bob Thornton from the movie U-turn.
Glasses, backward hat, and covered in grease just like that.
He even had one of the very old cordless phones with the pull out antenna and a wired head set. I'm amazed he knows enough about the modern world to have a web site.

What's not funny is how this post turns out to be BOGUS! I called the contact number lushdrunk posted in this thread. They said they don't rebuild C4 dual mass flywheels or have any affilliation with Childress (like he also posted).
When I PM'd and asked if he provide the specific contact or correct info, his reply was a ROLF figure.
What a douchebag! I bet lushdrunk posted his OWN pic above.

That is what I was trying to tell you. I had already called all of the people I could find and they did not do DMFs.
I had mine cut 6 thousands 9 years ago, it's been fine no problems. It took a few trys before my mechanic at the time found a shop that would do it. Sorry, I lost track of the mechanic since then and never knew which shop he used.

Funny no one can produce a phone number.
Oh it's produced alright. It's just that lushdrunk LIED! I called the number he posted and they said no DMFs can be rebuilt for C4 vettes. Maybe he got taken for a ride! That would serve him right considering his attitude.
Here was the EXACT post in the thread I linked to in my last post above....

Their is a company in Asheville NC called "Carolina clutch & brake" They mainly rebuild clutches for extreme heavy duty trucks and equipment, But they also build performance clutch set ups and brake pads for circle track cars including most of Richard childress race team here in NC.
I had them build a performance clutch for my 94 ZF6. For the clutch disk, pilot bushing, through-out bearing and to have my dual mass flywheel rebuilt. (Not resurfaced, completely rebuilt) it was $325 and guaranteed to handle 500hp/lbs tq with a lifetime warranty.
I was so impressed when I installed the clutch that I called him to thank him and ended up sending him my factory shifter and for $35 he made it just like the Hurst short shifter.
When I get the time I plan to send him my front and rear brake pads to be rebuilt as well.
I doubt he has a website, It is a small family owned business but their phone number is 828-327-9358
I found out about him from a friend that works for RCR in Lexington. He builds the clutch systems for almost all of the RCR track cars. Including the Nascar teams. (Dont know who the hell drives for RCR, Im not a Nascar fan)
