to put a Garmin, Tom Tom etc. in the DIC spot and relocate the lights? I was wondering if this was possible. I think it would look pretty cool and sort kind of fit well I think.
It never ceases to amaze me how I can think of something one day and within 24-48 hours somebody usually posts something related on the forums here. LOL It's still gonna be several weeks until I can start pulling the L98 & 4+3 tranny out to swap in my LS2 & T56, so I've spent my free time thinking of ways to spend more money.
I was actually thinking about replacing everything in the center console. I've recently been looking into "carputers" and would like to have GPS, radio, OBDII, etc. all linked to a touchscreen LCD where the radio is now. I also entertained the idea of adding a backup camera as well. I'd have to modify the console (i.e. make a custom one out of fiberglass), but you have to spend your time somehow. I have never fiberglassed anything BTW, so it'd be new territory for me. I still want to try it out though. I think it would be fun. Hmmmm, sorry if I kind of went off topic here. I guess I should say I like your idea and would like to see how it works out for you.
Oh yeah, thought I'd add that there's a guy on the C4 tech/performance section with a thread where he is trying something similar. Let's see if this link works...
