Coolant system/Heater core Question
I have a question for the C4 1996 LT4 crowd. I have a leak in my coolant system that appears to be coming from what to me looks to be a plastic valve. Basically there is a rubber tube that comes out of the thermostat casing on the passenger side then connects to this plastic valve which has an arrow pointing towards the heater core/firewall and were the drip is coming from near the radiator cap/firewall region and from there it connects to a different rubber tube that runs into the firewall. This is the first time I've seen a leak but what I did differently then previosly is while idle in garage I turned the heat all the way up. Then walked around the car and noticed the leak.
So 1) does coolant only run thru that tube when the interior heat has been turned on or does it not matter?
2) does anyone know the actual name of that plastic piece/valve?
