Finally decided to do it. Should have done it years ago. Came out great, looks good and keeps the interior cooler. Went with 20% tint. Didnt want to go too dark, want to make sure the new carpetting and trim pieces are still somewhat visible
He initially told me he was going to do it in 3 pieces. he ended up doing it in 2 pieces. the seam is perfect, right on one of the orange defrost lines.Took about 1.5 hours.Had to use a heat gun for the curved pieces so the tint would conform to the shape of the glass. I would have went nuts if I saw a seam. He kind of figured that out on his own when he seen the condition of the car.
I am still looking forward to the day my hatch is tinted. I am also thinking 20% (black rose with gray int.) I just haven't had the time to "travel" to the tint shop i trust, about a hour away. One of these day's Im just going to have to tell the boss "I'm taking the afternoon off" and get it done. Post more pics if you have them. We all love pics
How is it at night? Who did you go to? And how much (if you dont mind me askn)
It looks great!!!!
Havent driven it at night yet. Its only 20% tint so I dont think it will be that bad. There are 2 darker tints that were available, 15% and 5%. I went to a place in Union,NJ called Tropic Window Tinting. $150. They use Llumar brand tint, lifetime warranty. The place has been there for about 16 years.
Looks great, great looking vette! Mine was done before I bought my car including my side windows. My side windows are a lighter tint than the rear. I'm not sure if the side windows are legal though.
