Accent stripe

The option label on my 87 vert says it came with a D98-Accent Stripe. Any one know what that is supposed to be, a pinstripe or what?

My Dad's 86' has a pinstripe down the side of it. (ugly IMO not usre if it is stock.)

Could be something like that, I have never seen one other than the GS that I can think of.

Do you have a 3.07 rear? This site shows D98 denoting a speedo gear that this site indicates is for a 3.07.

Yeah, G44 option is 3.07 with G87 8.5 ring gear. I see where those 2 sights say 3.07 one is followed by a ? mark. If you go on the web and put in D98 it is GM's option for a lot of accent stripes on various models. This supplier claims to be official GM supplier and shows stripes and decals for corvettes.

That is a GS hash, and never appeared on c4's until 96.
The one I am talking abnout is actually the old pinstripe tape they used to put on cars in the 70's and 80's, on the door line.
