Same problem
I had the same problem. After almost ripping it beyond repair I took them to an upholstery shop and had them done. $75 for the pair! Plus they did them in a nice black vinyl instead of the crappy cloth!

i have the fsm didn't think to look in the book.....it is on page 10-9d-2.
it shows everthing but what is holding it in(nut,some kind of push pin...)
i do not want to start pulling on it and screw up the mirror any ideas

On the C5- it's glued in (fabric to mirror edge frame)- really a biotch to get out. Since you are removing the fabric, wouldn't it be easier to cut and remove all the fabric around the mirror, then maybe you can see what's holding it in?
