I've had my share of "incidents"...believe me. Playin the road game...it's tough. People go to a different place when on the road. Some feel they are on "patrol" so they try to MAKE everyone drive the speed limit instead of just moving aside. Some go from calm and cool, to psycho once in their car. Some like to play games and slam on brakes. Some play it cool.
I personally tend to have to work to not get agitated with traffic. My real road anger started in Dallas where I was a medic. I35 and I30 at rush hour...oh god. Trying to get an ambulance through there was hell on earth. Paramedic in PA brought on a whole new kind of anger. People are retarded here. They drive side by side....slowly. They don't move over. They see flashing lights and instead of moving aside, they just SLAM on their brakes. Nightmare. So, my anger built over the years and I have to work to stay chill.
On another note...story time. Stop here if you don't feel like reading on. I got shot at in Dallas. I went through a parking lot...quickly...probably doin 25 when I should've done 5 or 10. A guy was backin up and didn't see me comin (or felt he had a truck so I'd just STOP). I zipped behind him and he did one of those sudden stops. Well...he must have been a psycho, cause he went blastin out of that spot in tire smoke. It was pretty crazy. Sometimes you just KNOW your in trouble. So, I get in it and I know the chase is on.
We ran red lights, dipped through turns. I didn't know the area, so I was worried about getting cornered. I kept circling back trying to stay near the interstate because it's all I knew that led back to where I lived. I ended up losin him a bit and hid in parked cars in Targets parking lot. I saw him come into the parking lot slowly....looking for me. Well as he neared I started to feel trapped and afraid he'd see me so I pulled out and tried to head out the way I came in. We were in a head on scenario at that point, but I turned into his turn and he narrowly missed me and hit about 10 buggies. This, I'm sure, REALLY made him mad then.
We circled in the parking lot and I headed towards the service road beside the interstate. I was doing about 60 across this Target parking lot, his truck clearly damaged by the buggies left behind. I am flyin towards this Olive Garden parking lot, only to realize at the last second there is about a 4ft descent that starts suddenly. Well, airborn I go. Probably had the car 2ft in the air. Slammed down, car still running (THANK GOD), windshield wipers goin and all. I jump back on the gas and go in the opposite direction down this service road figuring he won't think I went that way.
I go about 500ft and its DARK. I pull into this autobody shop parking lot and sit...car running, lights off. I sit there for like 2 minutes and once again, I get this "trapped" feeling. If he comes in the lot, I'm done. So, I pull out toward the service road. I look out and noone there, so I head back towards where I came, with the intention of passing by and jumping on the interstate. So, I say "go for it". I pull out and start goin...lights off. Wouldn't you know, there this guy is pulling towards the edge of the road. He pulls out in the road in an attempt to stop me, I swerve around him. I look in the rear view to see him stand over his cab and "pop...pop...pop". Nothin hit me and I jumped on the interstate. I did 125mph for like 5 miles and exited. That night sucked.
Next morning I go out and see my car has FULL creases in all the tires to the wheel. Damn lucky nothing blew out. Honda saved me that day.
Round here its handicap plates and jesus fish I refuse to get behind. Guaranteed to be late if I do.
Other wise if the interstate is clear of accidents or its not rush hour, its like a Nascar race.
Jnelg Sorry take your statement bother me. After being in a major car accident where both lower extremities were messed up beyond full repair in fact the are going to remove my left leg next week. I have a disability tag. I have fiqured a way to drive even my vett. I have no problems maintaing the speed. I have found ways to do things that I would bet you cannot do. Sorry enough said

Nothing personal meant hooked, it was in poor taste for me to post that but it is a running joke in my vehicles. Tasteless as it is. Even my disabled friend (both arms lost in an electrical accident) has noted it when with me.
If I get behind a slow car it seems to invariably have one of those icons.

I'm glad that people don't drive like that in NJ... we are pretty infamous for our driving, in fact.
What jersey do you live in??
The other day I was going to a cruise night and driving down rt537 (50mph) and this person was going 35 up hills and 40 down hill... I couldnt even set the cruise control... So when I saw a chance, the lane split to 2 for about 200ft I went into the right lane and punched it (3/4 of the way down) the tires chirped into second right next to a cop! (thats my luck)...
I didnt even know it was a police officer because it was a truck and he just pulled up next to me at the next light asking what I was doing...
There is a definite "thing" with disabled plates though. 99 out of 100 they drive slow as *****. I see it and I'm doing what it takes to get around them.
arctic 92 I quess I will have to stay out of your way I do not want to get run off the road or have you do what ever it takes to get around me. what a ---------- statement. Just keep in mind you never know what could happen it could just as easy be you next. enough said...
I usually like driving the speed limit +5 (maybe 10 at most). What I can't deal with are the idiots who can't keep a constant speed. Usually these people are texting or on their cell phone. Just last week, I was almost hit by a woman coming out of a strip mall on her cell phone. Lucky me, the lane next to me was open and I was able to move over quickly. She kept jabbering on her phone.
Trust me I did the dodge viper wave at them. I had my top off windows down and radio playing some SoulFly. So my ride was good today. But, there are days I dont need that kind of cow dropping going on infront of me.

Dude...don't be a douche and be all defensive. Your disabled, we heard. That doesn't have to mean that your that guy that putts down the road. 9 out 10 disabled plates I see drive slow as hell. Were you ever in front of me? Does that statement have to mean your that guy?
Clearly your pretty agitated by your situation, and I won't pretend to understand what it's like to lose a leg or get fouled up. I'm sorry about your situation, but life goes on man. Make the best of it and realize it could be worse. I never take health for granted and thank God every day...believe me. My life hasn't been all peaches by any means.
All I'm sayin is, anytime someone says a general statement, don't take it so personal. The majority of people with disabled plates are likely elderly and we all know how the large majority of elderly drive...slow as hell. Buck the system man...get in your vette with your disabled plate and haul *** everywhere you go.
They are usually in the middle of a phone call, and don't want to cause an accident, so they drive really slow until they hang up, or see you going around, and then speed way up as you try to go around. Happens every day!
Arctic. I am not a douche. Nor am I pi@@ed at the world. Or am I aggaited by my situation I cope and deal with it very well thank you. I have to the best of ablities gotten on with my life. General or not when you make statements about doing what it takes to get around there was not other way to take it then you would run them off the road pass on the left (do what ever it takes) Fact is I get pleasure out of seeing people of older age being able to get around and the same with people with disabilities. Even before my accident I would always say man when Im their age hope I can do that. Or that is cool that he or she can do this or that. And yes I know it was in general but that does not mean it was not in bad taste in my opinion

Long story short, I hate people who cant drive!
Ouch. Cops are pretty much everywhere in Jersey. I've been stopped 3 times (no tickets though, probably because I'm deaf and they pity me)
but one of those times I got "speed trapped", which i think SHOULD be illegal, isnt it?
anyways to answer your question, I live in south jersey in the cumberland county region, 30min from Ocean City. People drive pretty bad around here, not to mention a high population of ricers. I could even start posting rice pics I took myself on the roads in my life...
