Default Headlight stuck

I was riding in a parade with our Corvette club with my daughter in our 84. The kids loved seeing the headlights spin around and I said that, just my luck, one would stick - and just then it did - half open. I don't know if this makes it worse, but my daughter jumped out to see if she could push it down while I turned on the lights again, and it went down a bit but she said she heard a "grinding noise". Any quick fixes, or did I fry the motor? It doesn't move at all, now.

Open the hood, twist the manual **** to close\open it. It may be stuck, or the electric motor\gears\bushings may be toast.

Do I need to disconnect the wiring connector first like the owners manual says?

Well, I just got back in from spinning the **** till the headlight is back flush again - I didn't disconnect the wiring harness. Doesn't move, so I guess the motor or gears are fried. Plenty to read on this in the tech section, so I'll get to work on it...
