Was there any problems taking it off or any problems after you took it off

No problems. I pulled mine after cleaning and polishing the suspension.

Some sweat a rear end collision, I haven't heard of a C4 bursting into flames.....

Well, at least not from the rear end.

On my 87 the big bolt holding the carrier up was frozen and it just spun in that elongated nut. Had to cut it off and reinstall a new one. Did this in the drive way. Would have been a lot of fun on a cold, dark, rainy night.

There are some owners who have never checked their spare. When they do they usually find it deflated and off the rim as mine was when I bought car

I took mine off for about a year.......you crawl under there and take bolts loose until the carrier falls on the floor.....it's that simple...

I started traveling to Las Vegas and Phoenix for work, so I felt it best to put it back in. So crawled under there and put bolts back until it worked again.....it was that simple.

However, all that is in there now is clean and the tire is holding air...
