I took everyones advice and scrapped the Bose for a new JVC unit and some nice Kenwood speakers. Sounds great, but the shop could not get my antenna to work once the new unit was installed. The new unit apparently has a power antenna output but they could not figure out how to wire it up. The shop told me there are a lot of wires left over from the old harness. They also were not sure about how much power the antenna needs to operate. I think I read that it might be
12v (?). I am taking it back this weekend to have them look at it again - in the meantime, any suggestions anyone has that I can give to these guys would be appreciated.
Anyway. There's an adapter you have to buy that hooks to your new antenna wire and then hooks into the wire for the antenna that's already in your car.
i'll see if I can find some info on it. Hopefully one of the guys who have done this will stop by.

Did they connect the GM wire harness adapter to the side of the "Receiver Module" near the side fuse box panel?
Or, did they use new wires for the power, ground and antenna?
I didn't read the whole thread I posted so I have a question.
Do you plug the adapter into the CDM, or just the wire coming from it, and then connect it to the new HU. Because I'm thinking there is a lead that goes from the CDM to the actual antenna. Is that what you're referring to?
I just did this last weekend, I installed the JVC KW-XR810. All the wires are in the compartment behind the passenger seat. The PO had run another wiring loom back to that compartment for what looked like an amp and SW but all I got was a mess of wires and I had to trace each one individually.
You should have a relay in that compartment with a pink wire and orange wires, that is the antenna relay. You can jump it and the antenna will go up and down if your wiring is still in place. If that works then look for a small connector with a black, pink, orange and yellow wire. If you find that you should be able to get power from orange without the key and orange and yellow with the key ( I believe I have that correct ) anyway you can then jump the powered wire to that pink wire and the relay should click and the antenna should go up.
If all that works then you just need to run a wire from the antenna/aux wire on the back of the radio to that pink wire. It works like a charm. Let me know if you want some pictures.

Yes, the GM adapter plugs directly into the side of the CDM which also, has a lead that connects to the power antenna.
If the CDM is not used, the factory power antenna lead will have to be found and used.
