Window adjustments.
Whats the secret to the dang window adjustments? I have the FSM and while it seems straightforward.. Mine are still flopping around like a dead fish.. Im sure there must be some magic "plastic part" thats missing but Im not seeing it in the FSM or in the bottom of the window or the channel.
Are the two felt covered bumpers in place at the top of the door? These keep a slight pressure on the glass and keep it from rattling when you close the door.
At the front corner of the glass is a plastic guide that rides on a metal rail. These plactic guides break quite often and cause some flopping. When mine broke no matter how much I adjusted it I couldn't get the glass to seat properly in the weatherstrip. Once I replaced that plastic guide ($25?) I was able to get the glass properly adjusted.
PM me your email and I will pass along a .pdf a member gave me for adjusting your windows. Course if you have broken or missing parts it wont help til you replace them.

would I be able to get a copy of that also? I have a small gap in the drivers side and would like to fix it before a trip next month.

It looks like mine may be missing this guide.. I think i found it listed as a stabilizer guide. Sure is a pita when you dont get to see one in correct condition..

You need to look in from the side of the door or pull the metal panel to see the guide, it's a little hidden. It's right behind the only 10mm bolt on the steel panel. The one on the door has two hooks spaced vertically pointed down and they catch the piece on the window track that has two bars horizontally ( that's the best way I can explain it). I looked in from the door latch side by pulling that large rubber piece of weatherstrip out of the way and watched as mine went up and down and then adjusted the guide with the bolt that is on the guide itself and not the one on the door. It allows you to move the lower catch in and out ( like scissors ) so the window track does not hit it on the way up and so it catches ( imagine that ). The other bolt on the door part of the guide seems to allow up and down movement in case the window is not catching all the way. It took care of the back end of the window sag and rattle. I then adjusted the felt guides at the top for a little more tension. Of course I am not sure if the wind noise is gone yet since the battery died and I have not been able to take it for a run but it looked good when I closed it.
