Thanks to everyone for all the compliments.
No it looks good, I was just curious. CA has a six character limit on the 9/11 plate which is why I asked.

Just logged on and this thread was on top. New York DMV has a on line site where you can see if the vanity plate you want is available. If its available, the site generates a picture of the plate. Well.........I hit it lucky, the one I wanted is available. Not doing this transaction by mail, I will drive 100 mile round trip to DMV first thing in the morning to lock it up. If I really get it, I will post the picture tomorrow. Wish me luck LOL

We have the same thing in Texas, but it's an independent company that has a contract with the State. The site is www.myplates.com

If the plate you want is available in Texas, it also generates a picture of it, and you can lock it up online with a credit card right there on the spot.

Yes, same here, you can lock it on line. I dont want to take any chances, rather make the drive, hand them the coins and get my new registration. The plates will follow in about 2 weeks. Here is the link for the NY Site'

I think I'm gonna steal it..haha. I feel the same way. Half my life...finally got it. I took it out on the track (road course...of course!) and thought to myself, man this car was worth the wait. Such a capable car for its age.

California used to be blue and gold, and before that black and gold and
gold and black. Both of my vehicles have blue and gold. BTW, I recently
found out that there are specialists who restore old plates.

Back from DMV and I got it. The picture is a photoshop of the plate from the DMV web site moved to my Vette. The YV = Yellow Vette. The real plate should be here in about 2 weeks. The new paint has been wet sanded, now to start the polish. Then the new carpet and seat covers and I am back on the road

Mine say "NEVR L8" Sorry no picture. And yes that was shamelessly stole from a Vette forum list of plate names (possilby someplace here). I dont want my name (seems kinda wierd to have my name on a plate, nickname , etc, thats just me though, i guess they are called VANITY plates). Suprised you got a year and vette, pretty much every year in my state is gone.

One thing i did want to comment on (OP black car) WoW, love the black rims on black.. I been wrestling with that idea for awhile, you may have just pushed me to the dark side

I never thought my thread would generate such interest, but I'm glad it has. That plate is gonna look GREAT on that YV!

Thank you for the compliment. I love the black wheels myself. They are Grand Sport replicas.
