Default intake porting question

When you port your intake manifold what are the other necessary parts for the proper job? And can anyone tell me how much I should be paying for the job?

Holy crap!!! Did someone say Crossfire???

Wait wait wait...lemme be first....

Throw your Crossfire in a lake and replace it with a real motor like an L98.....

Or

Your Crossfire is just a waste of time.........

or

Those two injectors will never be as good as a later model

Well I'll be the second to say if you are porting for fun, and keep the car intact that is one thing. If you ever plan to make power, or add power adders other than nitrous, you would be better off going to an upgraded intake while it is off. There are threads showing how to.

You can find some guys that really pull the most power they can out of the CFI also.

(No, I never had one, and I never wanted one.)

Why does everyone on this forum talk about a ported intake being the best upgrade for these cars..... and i'm sorry but i dont have the kind of money just to plop another engine in my car. I just want to know some helpful tips to make mine a little more fun... so i ask questions on this dumb a$$ forum. So get over yourselves and help me out.

Because on TPI cars the intake is one of the major restrictions to making power because it will not breath at higher revs.
Conversely it makes good power down low

The Op has an 84 and Porting the Cross Fire intake is one of the easiest and cheapest methods for making the engine Breathe better.

As you can see by the link I provided in my earlier post above, The Intake to Head passages are blocked by about 1/3. This severely blocks the air/fuel mixture to the cylinders.

You can search this so called "dumb *** forum" for all kinds of porting threads, or even how to put on a much improved intake system.

Like I said are you porting for fun/hobby, or trying to make power?

You can buy porting kits
