My corvette at 250,000 miles (pics)
I have had this corvette since new. I bought it in Santa Ana, Ca. in 1989. Its no garage queen. I have 250K since I purchased this car. It was $38k out the door.
All my kids grew up riding in my vette. Its been a great car and lots of family fun with Anita and the kids all riding in the car with me at different times.
The origainal motor lasted to 144K. Year 2000. I put in a GM crate motor in it then. 100K on this motor. When I did the motor, I thought about doing the tranny then, I didnt. The tranny is origainal and still runs perfect at 250K
The digi dash lasted to 171K
The suspension is still origanal and untouched. Still have the factory bilstiens on it.
I have put 4 tops on it thru the years. I put all new weatherstrip with this last top this past winter.
The motor is all stock. The car is basically all stock with just Zr1 repilica.s and a upgrade stereo system.
I never new I had the undesireable truck engine when I bought it. I learned that when I joined here. I like my L98, it meets my needs.
I could hop in this car and drive anywhere. Gas and oil run thru my veins and I have always maintained all my cars to be at 100 % at all times.
I have never paid one penny for labor maintaining all my cars.
I Like it. I have no desire to upgrade to a newer vette.
It meets my needs, and besides I aint no RUB.
I have other cars to drive too. And a bike. Sometimes its difficult to pic out which car or bike to take.
My camaro has an LS1,
My bike is a 1970 Harley Davidson 88 inch Shovelhead
If I feel the need for some raw horsepower, and want to set off car alarms at the mall, I drive this.
And this is my dirt toy.
Im a car guy. Life is good.

Nice pics. They'd make a great documentary. Can't believe how nice your paint looks for 250k miles!

Damn Mike- you got a different toy for every day of the week to drive to work.
They're all very nice, and I love the fact you are the original owner of your Vette. Looks great with the new paint job, and you definatly got your moneys worth out of it, with many more years to go.
