The other day I read about a guy who owns a Volvo 1600 and has racked up close to 2 MILLION miles! I think he did a million without a major rebuild! So it got me thinking ... what`s the highest mileage corvette you guys have ever heard of with or without a rebuild. It kinda pisses me off that a European car can outlast American iron. By the way my 85 has 87977 Kilometers (Canadian) tranlsates to 53000 miles.
Saw one at the museum a few years ago, had 285k writen on the windshild. Looked worse then the a$$ of a flea bitten dog. It could of used a gallon of "killz" and a paint brush.
Hey Mike I read your thread.Your tranny is original. How often do you change your fluid? 250,000 on a trany WOW expecially on a vette.
I use a electric pump to change my fliuds. I do my oil every 3000 miles. When I change my engine oil, I pump out 5 quarts of tranny fluid also. Then add 5 new quarts of TF.

JFB.. how bout a pic of your car?
Mike
Hi Mike,
How's that electric pump work for you? That's not a bad idea, I use a manual hand pump for my boat engine because the drain plug isn't really accessible.

I like it. The line goes down the dipstick tube. I bought it on ebay. I think it was under 30 bucks. Its 12 volt. Wont work on my daughters 2003 mustang because of the dipstick tube. Works on all mine though.
