Default First things first.....

O.k. so I am new here, had my 86 a week and am trying to digest soooo much information.
My first question is.... what has everyone found to be the best temp switch replacement, I was thinking a 185 on / 170 off.
Secondly...... air box / filter, now I am a novice so how or what products will give me best air flow?
Last question for now... exhaust....no emission tests in Mississippi, should I get rid of cat and run straight pipe? or get cat back system?

Welcome, I run a 160* stat in the GS. My airbox is cut open with a K&N filter. Lastly, in Florida we also have no emissions so I run longtubes, no cats, x pipe, Corsa mufflers out the back.

Temp switch and stat are 2 different things. I know on newer cars, you have to program the computer to do changes, no 'switch'. Not sure about 86'. Mike will be along shortly, he'll know.
