I'm so, tired of seeing all the threads about how easy it is too paint a vehicle and when pictures are posted, you can see incomplete sanding, incomplete prep work, rough dry spray, blotches, no color sanding etc...
Your Graphics job shows what a little time and patience can accomplish.
Nice job! That's something I've always thought about trying. What kind of school is it? Is the airbrushing just part of a bigger class or is it strictly an airbrushing class?
I go to Lincoln College of Technology for collision repair. Custom paint and airbrush is one of the classes.
THAT is sharp!!! Is your vette admiral blue or bright aqua metallic? Hard to tell the two apart at times with pics.
Also for you paint/body guys...any ideas as to what something like that would cost? Just curious as to a ballpark figure. Something like that with the lighter shade being light grey to match the interior would be

astepup said that
The color is actually Bright Met Blue with a touch of Blue-green to bring it out. The graphic colors are chrysler Met Silver with a few grams of interference blue pearl, Black and GM Indigo Blue just on the edges for depth. As for the cost a shop would have charged. My instructor said a complete color change from black to this with the bodywork that I did would be around 10 to 12k depending on the quality of the shop since I shaved emblems, antenna and 3rd brake light.

Wow...I had to go back and look a second time to notice the missing nose emblem! I should have been more specific in my question..what I meant was what do you think the cost would be for the hood graphics alone? I'm going to save those pics and use them as my wallpaper when/if I get tired of the one I have now, a babe with LONG legs..so it might be awhile
Average price on hood only graphics could get pricey since the right way will be to clear the entire hood after so there are no tape lines and it's smooth. You can bargain with your painter on labor but he won't budge on paint price since quality paint costs money. I practiced on a 12 by 12 panel ALOT before I shot it on car.

Never noticed it before....LOVE your AVATAR. Favorite show when I was a kid. Of course, so was BATMAN and "Rowan and Martin's" LAUGH-IN. (Too bad it was on at the same time as M.F.U. -- plus there were no VCR's!

KUDOS! I thought you'd just added the hood graphic!
