All of the sudden the other day i noticed my batt light started flashing quickly and the lights got very bright and flickering same with the A/C it doesn't do it all the time but just kinda spotty got it to a safe place to park it. Wouldn't that just be the voltage regulator or might it be something else im not thinking of.
Any help would be great as i am broke at the moment.
yeah thats what i was thinking scares me to drive it like that keeps spiking up to 18 volts or so. ill check on the connections in a few then about to pull it i guess and get her a new one
You want to fix this before you burn out all the light
bulbs, some of which are a bear to replace, or worse,
fry some electronics. If the
regulator is integral with the alternator, replace the
alternator. They aren't expensive ($99ish for mine
a couple of years ago, then got the original rebuilt for
$89, which I still need to put back in the car).
Don't drive the car until you either get your alternator repaired or rebuilt or you get a known good alternator installed. 18 volts will destroy your ECM !
