Been looking for a cover for the cockpit glass, not the whole car. Black leather interior gets way too hot! Found this and it works great! Easy on/off and really keeps the car cool. Looks pretty sharp too. $60
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) follows the
accepted fact that the darker the color of car, the more
energy it takes to cool the car, thus an increase in
emissions. CARB will require vehicle surfaces to reflect at
least 20 percent of solar energy by 2012, a figure that no
black auto paint can currently achieve
No actually the Cali thing is real. I heard it I guess two years ago when they were first talking about it, thought it was a joke from the radio. Turns out they really intended to ban black, dark blue, dark red, and who knows what else. Apparently people in Cali actually got their way for once cause I heard it bombed and they dropped the issue. Sometimes I really hope it does break off and float away...

Me too.
And I live here.
Well actually, just the coastal cities. SanDiego, LosAngeles and SanFrancisico.
Once those are gone, we can get back inline with the rest of the country.

I could certainly see using that pop-top if you couldn't park in the shade somewhere. It would also be good just to keep interior parts from fading/baking in the sun.
Out here in the DPRK you'd be amazed at the stupid laws they pass or try to pass. Then again, a few years ago they finally figured out that about 25% of our air polution is blowing across the Pacific from China and they were seriously trying to figure out how to force CHINA to adhere to California emmisions laws
I would worry about the nylon cord rubbing into the paint as they move with the wind. I do not know this for sure but it just seems like it would by the installation instructions.

It states that in their ad, but still a stoopid selling point. I hope we do to, I'll have beach front property or live on an island resort

So do I, and l live here. More world-class kelp bed
SCUBA diving if it breaks off.
Not if, when...
Some show I saw on NatGeo or Discovery put the timeline of california becoming an island from tetonic plate shift into the year 3500, give or take 100 years.
I am so cashing in on my island property when that happens
i presently have the pop-top for my 90. i'm not sure how well it works, since i haven't had an opportunity to test, or use it. on the plus side, it's not heavy, and folds up fairly small. i'm not sure how long it will last, since it made of a light-weight material. when i had my 85, i had the ferguson sunshade - basically the same thing, but the ferguson was made out of vinyl with a denim lining. it was heavy, but well made. i used that cover for close to ten years - primarily at work - on and off in less than a minute. the only drawback with the ferguson, is the price - now, runs about 2-bills. my son now has my 85, and my sunshade down in sarasota. i'll probably buy another ferguson - just waiting for someone to have a 10% off, or free shipping special. these pop-tops or sunshades are a must if your corvette sits all day in the hot sun. my 85 would get so hot, that you couldn't grab the steering wheel, and the AC would take forever to cool down the interior. with a sunshade, the AC would be pumping cold air and cooling the interior in less than a minute. i wouldn't be surprised if the inside temperature of a C4 hits 150F on a hot sunny day...
The Pop Top is made of Tyvek, that plastic fabric stuff FedEx envelopes are made of. Ever try to tear one of those open? On the down side, it does have sewn seams so it's not totally impervious to tears there..
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
