I have tried the search feature and nothing turned up to what I was looking for. I have found threads on replacing the fan switch, but most just include hooking up a switch to turn the fans on manually. My question is on my 84, I need to change the cooling fan switch. My question is do I need to use any type of sealant on this switch when putting in the new switch. This is the switch above plugs #6 & #8 I would look at my FSM, but a friend is borrowing it right now. Thanks for any help.
The switch should come with some sort of anti-seize but I wouldn't use any teflon. After all, it needs a ground and by gooping the switch, you are reducing the ground.
Looks like I am going to need a new harness pigtail for my new switch. Am I wrong in saying that it looks like one end plugs into the switch and the other goes to a ground? Or is it more involved than this? I am just putting on the factory switch and pigtail, no manual control of the fans..

One end plugs into the sensor and the other to the relay
Got the new switch in today. I also had to replace the harness/pigtail too. The worst part was splicing the wires. Fired it up no leaks and the fans came on at 230.......Thanks to all who responded and helped me. Although Friz didn't respond here, he has helped me with some other items I PM'd him about. So I am thanking him here...
This forum is definitely one of the best...Thanks guys...
