Default A/C Question

Hey guys...I have my first C4 Question.

Sometimes when I have the AC on, it takes a little bit of time to transition between settings. Now today, the AC is on "face & feet", and the temp is set at 78. When I press the "OFF" or "AUTO" on the left side, nothing happens, and the temperature adjustment doesn't seem to have an effect on anything. However, all the buttons on the right side work. The "FAN SPEED", and all the "VENT SETTINGS" and "DEFROST" all work fine.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to reset the system? Have any of you had this problem?

I did....found a few posts about taking apart the buttons and cleaning the terminal board...and some about cracked sodier on the terminal board. Is this something that most of you experience? Or are the Electronic Controls for the AC pretty reliable for most of you?
