Default 93 Outside Mirror

Hello;

The mirror glass part of the right hand, outside, rear view mirror assembly on our 93 is getting floppy.

Is this an easy, do it yourself fix, a body shop fix or entire unit replacement?

thanks, nicholas

I'm waiting for an answer, too, since I have exactly the same problem. Since these electric mirrors are not unique to our cars, the answer may be found elsewhere if there are no replies.

OK, got the answer by poking and prodding, and it's an easy fix. Turn the mirror as far as it will go inward and down. Then look into the housing from the outside and you will see two self-tapping screws that hold the mechanism in, one at the top outside and one in the bottom middle. In my case it was those two screws that were loose. I tried to tighten them but they both seemed bottomed out and would not tighten any more. So I removed them, put in little washers as shims, and replaced and retightened. The mirror seems pretty solid now.

I hope yours is as easy.
