Ok, on my 96 lt4. When I start the car in the morning, the A/C seems to stick because it blows cold air by itself. It's happened 3 times in the last week. If i push the button to turn the A/C off it won't work. The buttons don't work at all. After a while, the buttons start working again and I am able to change the temp or the setting of the A/C. It's weird because when I start the car, the temp display goes blank and then the a/c starts blowing air through the windshield vents. It happens in the morning only, by noon, everything works fine. Help please!!!!!
This usually fixes the problem. One tip: After you remove the unit and it is on your bench (kitchen table, etc) spread a towel on the surface and place the head on it. Then start your dis-assembly. That keeps tiny screws and parts from rolling onto the floor and getting lost.
