It finally snapped!
I've had this job on my to do list for quite some time now.
Now it's on my MUST do list!
My hood cable broke on my way to my first Corvette Challenge win.
I know how to make the manual release cables. But I do not know how to get my hood open with out them.
The passenger side still releases but the drivers side does not release.
Can anybody instruct me on the procedure to get the hood open?

Oh you need this
It is 1/4 X 36 steel rod
At one end make a 90 bend 1" to 1 1/4 long
The other make a nother bend @90 giving you a 7" handle
Works like a top. Or do it the hard way like hamrhed did
And manhandle it
You will need to fisharound in there and catch the hood lock but its not too hard I think mam corvette or ecklers has a .pdf on how to use there tool but I perfer the $5 hardware store rod obtion

Sorry it took so long to reply.
Didn't drive the Vette for about 2 months.
Finally got around and made my own release tool with the instructions you guys pointed me to. A few times viewing the pics that were posted and alot of fishing and it popped right open. The clip that the cable is attached to appears to have broken. Rigged up an emergency release cable and I'll check out other C4s tomorrow at the track.
