Default Power programmer recomendations

Ok I am getting sick of the way my auto shifts out of first to fast unless I'm hard on the throtle. If I'm going like 10 mph and give it gas it stays in 2 nd,unless I put it to the floor.
I was thinking of getting a handheld programmer.
I know I could take it to someone to tune but I want full control and don' want to have to go back to change something.
Anty recomendations for the OBD 1 system, 95 auto

I don't know what you'd spend on a programmer but I guarantee it will be more than software (Like Tunercat), and a cable...maybe alot more.

And you will have very little control with a programmer vs Tunercat.

Here's an idea on what you can change with Tunercat:

Tunercat & definition file you'll need to use it is around $100. And yes, you can screw it up, just like most anything. Just make small intelligent changes and you'll be fine.

I have a HYPERTECH POWER PROGRAMMER III it came with the car. I am still reading up on it and so far it says if you dont save any changes it remains as it was, also you can change back to stock if you scew up anything acording to the manuall. So yes you can change somethings but im not sure what as im a little nevous about trying it.

Wow thats all over my head,I wouldn't even know what to change
looks like you have a lot of control on the auto trans,I hate the way mine shifts 1-2 shift too early and 3-2 shift to late

It sure looks intimidating at first glance I'll give you that. Just remember that although you can adjust each of those tables (menu options), you don't have to.

Point being that you are only wanting a few changes. Dollar for dollar DIY is the way to go. You can ask this very helpful community for tips on this & that (after your forum searching), and your tasks will be solved.

For example my 95 is auto also. Under normal driving, it shifts normal = nice & smooth. Under hard driving, it shifts firmer, quicker and when I want.

Wow that is a lot of parameters that can be changed. What about adjusting the temperatures when the fans come on? I would like to change mine to 10°F sooner.
