cause after i lit up the positive cable hooking up the battery after installing the 383 i'm having an arguement with myself as to whether or not i hooked it up right

Only one terminal the batt cable goes on ;the big one on the solenoid at top

Do they all have eyelet ends on them?

If so, just match the size to the terminals.

There are accessory hookups at the starter as well.

I just can't think off the top of my head what they are though.

Two should have large eyes and lumps about 3 inches from the eyes. These are the power feeds for the electrical circuits. They go on the stud with the cable coming from the battery. The remaining wire has a small eye, attaches to the solenoid. It provides power to close the solenoid when starting. For future reference the lumps are fusiable links.

Added, looked at the 84 electrical manual, the two power distribution wires are red with one splitting just after the fusiable link. Wire to battery is shown to be black.
