Dang Starter
OK now I have the BUTT. I was going to drive the Vette to work this morning and it would not start. So when I got home I checked the lights they came on, battery checked 12.6 volts on the multimeter, tapped the starter with a hammer the Vette starts right up. Checked the battery again with the engine running and it is at 14.6 volts so that tells me the altenator is good. So it is the starter and is confirmed by my mechanic. The thing that bites my BUTT is the starter is less than a year old!!!!!!! So the Vette is in the shop but it will be out in time for the trip to the Car Show and Hot Air Balloon Festiville at Callaway gardens on Saturday. So my question and frustration is we pay good money for parts and they crap out in less than a year. Yeap you heard me the Starter was installed on 9 October 2009.
So the moral of the story is just because you replaced a part and you are thinking that there is no way that it could be that part because it is relatively new it does not mean that it is worth a crap.
