I have a 90 Vert and had a new top put on last year - it rains a lot in Mobile and I kept car under a cover but the top has I believe mildewed - I tried cleaning with warm water and mild dish detergent but it just didn't clean - any ideas on what to use?
Thanks

I use the Haartz products on my convertible top and have been very satisfied. Here is alink to their site and many auto outlets do carry their products.
I had the same problem with my canvas convertible top. Raggtop and 303 did not remove the black mold spots. Then, I saw a product called MOLDOFF on the TODAY show. It's biodegradable, no bleach, you don't rinse it out and it works over time. I used the COMMERCIAL strenght, 2 applications and after 3 wks the spots are gone. I covered the areas under the top with plastic to catch any drips.
Check it out: www.Moldoff.com
Simple green and a plastic bristled brush. A little elbow grease and all the nasties come off without hurting your top. Works great on boat interiors, too.

Don't use anything harsh. It could damage the top. I recommend car wash solution and a stiff brush.
I would be really nervous about using anything that doesnt specifically say its for vert tops. You just dont know how the fabric will react to chemicals. I used Murphy's oil soap thinking it would be mild on one and the top loosened incredibly and within a year the stitching came apart.
