oil pump?
Ok i'm changing my oil pan, so while i'm there I mite juste as well change my oil pump right. Now nothing is wrong with my pump but I ordered a new one anyways but it's not from Chevy. So he does not want to put in a after market oil pump he says your better off living the old one. What do you guy's think. :cheers:

The oil pump is the best lubed part in the whole engine, its very rare that they wear out. Pull the cover and check the tolerances, and if its ok, I'd leave it. When you pull the cover, one of the gears will fall out, so be ready for it.

it's right there! its cheap do it while its accesible and everything is off, it will not hurt to change it.
while it was off I would be tempted to pull off a rod end cap and check the bearings but thats just me.
