Default FInding Option Codes

Is there a sticker on a C4 or C5 that lists the option codes on the vehicle? WHere is it located?

Is there a website that you can enter the vin# and find the option codes for a specific vehicle?

Options codes or build sheet is often under the center counsel lid or on the lid of storage unit behind front seats.

Early C5 coupe is under the left side storage lid, later is in glove. C4 late is underside center console. Build sheets are stashed in the cars, on C5 inside the front bumper support (never get to it unless you're doing major teardown.

Try this site- put your vin in, tells you what options were on your car

You know, it's interesting. I went to thesite and put in the option code for this vin#, 1G1YY22G2X5125976. THis is the 1999 w/60,000. The site came back with the option sheet with every option marked and it said that:
There are 1 1999 CORVETTE 2 DR vehicles (0.006%) matching your exact options list. There are 1 (0.006%) with at least as many options.

THat's strange. It says this is the only COrvette with every option. It even includes both G90 and G92, whatever that means. Here is the list that it says this car is the only one that has all of them:

You can ignore the "1 of " comment. There are other codes in your car not shown as 'checkable' options ie. Day and week of year that a Silver Coupe was painted- for example.

As you can see, there were 18,084 auto coupes for that year. Most cars had the same options (which were actually standard with the 1SA option, so sometimes the options are redundant to each other. Another option was actually a delete- ie. the manual AC system vs the Auto system. Most cars had the 'upper' auto system, with only 2000 having the manual, as this 99' shows.

G92 tells you that the car has a "Performance" rear axle ratio. The G90 tells you what the ratio is.

I did run this report on my car, and just doing the percentages of each major option (upscale options only), did come back at around 1 of 15- 1 of 4 sold in Cali (due to Cal Emissions). Still not rare, but was fun.

That was interesting...I have ONE OF A KIND, too!

It seems that only 1660 of the 5,395 convertibles produced in '94 came with the 2.59 axle ratio. Hmmm....I thought it was more or less standard.

Does anyone know of a site which has MSRP prices for the models and options for various years? I'd be interested to know what mine cost back then. I don't even know if the convertible was an extra-cost option or cheaper than the coupe in '94.

The Corvette Museum has exactly what your looking for.
You can get a build sheet and copy of the original window sticker.

Well, the '96 models have the option code sticker located in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat.
Lift the lid, and you'll see the sticker.

Some other years they were located under the console lid.

You shouldn't have to take out any parts to find it.
If it's not easily seen, then it's possible the lid has been replaced.

In that case, the website socalman listed will get you pretty close.
But be advised, they don't have all C4's listed.
If you already own the car and are curious as to what options it was built with and where it was shipped, the museum site I listed above it the best place to start.
But since that information isn't free, you probably wouldn't want to use that if your just shopping.

GU92 was the performance upgrade for the rear axle, and for auto verts, meant a 2.79? axle. Looks like 2/3 of them went out of the factory with the perf axle for 94.

Verts retailed for $42k, coupes $36- quite a bit more. Same as now.

See above. That site is just some 3rd party site. Nothing official from GM.
So, not every VIN is going to show up.
So, see post #10 above. The museum should have your car listed.

It seems to be pretty good from 90 up- 80s are hit and miss. They are dead nuts on for my 2 cars, so it seems when they got it, they got it right.

That pricing guide is a shocker. I just looked up my car's MSRP with the options it has and it came to a tick over $44K. Add delivery, tax, title, etc. and somebody must have paid around 50 large for it new -- in 1994!

In view of that I like my purchase better than ever. But that level of depreciation gives new meaning to "precipitous." Almost 90% in only 16 years! I sure hope it slows down now.
