Yea, the filter is new-it fires right off with a small shot of starting fluid-then runs perfect

Yeah. That is a bit of a stumper.

I'm assuming when you installed new injectors you replaced the Cold Start injector as well?

Have you pulled any codes?

I know it might be too new for any to set yet, but you never know.

I have a scan tool hooked up and I am getting good temp readings from that. There is no cold start valve on my year (89) no codes-I have driven it just to see if any come up. I even pulled some sensor wires off to see of it would throwe codes and it did--

Engines require hot spark, spark at the right time, fuel and air and in the correct ratio and cylinder compression in order to start and continue to run. Since you can get it to start with starting fluid and it continues to run after starting this way, you have spark, fuel and air and cylinder compression. What you don't have is fuel during cranking. Watch the fuel pressure during cranking, I doubt you have any. The fuel pump is turned on for 2 seconds by the ECM when you turn on the ignition. The fuel pump will come on if the ECM receives reference pulses from the distributor during cranking and running and the fuel pump will be turned on by the oil pressure switch when the oil pressure exceeds 4 psi. I recommend watching the fuel pressure and the voltage on the fuel pump during a normal start and see if you have 12v on the fuel pump and normal fuel pressure (35-42 psi) during cranking
