Well after painstakingly reading about every thread on what oil and oil filter to use I changed the oil on my 92 for the first time .. Thanks to all the wisdom in here I felt I made a well educated decision.
I went with Mobil 1 5w-30 and a Mobil 1 oil filter as well. I enjoy reading all the threads and will continue to use the forum for my corvette needs.

I'm confused?? The oil type and brand is shown right on the cap, and also listed in your owners manual?
Y'know, that torn up thing with old gum sticking the pages together, deep down in the caverns of your glove compartment. Just remove the wad of KFC napkins, that hair brush, the flashlight with those rusting batteries and those 4 pouches of McDonalds ketchup and 2 tubs of BBQ sause, you'll see it.
No research required.
Oh, and to save you another 3 weeks of research. Premium Fuel- 93 if you can get it, 91 if that's all they got.

Hey where do you find 93 in CA?
I found a Texaco pump with 'Racing Fuel' in my area, which I think is close to 100, and ridiculously expensive, but I've never seen 93 anywhere..
You don't. I was telling him 'if 91's all they got' as I have no idea what's available in Colorado. The manual says Premium 93, didn't want him to get further confused.

Had nothing to do with confusion just wanted to make an informed decision. The previous owner had Castrol Syntec in it and after reading the post for oil and such I decided to change back to Mobil 1. As for 93 octane doesn't exist in Colorado unless you want to buy "racing" fuel.

I guess the previous owner was confused. The 'Use Mobil 1 5w-30' on the filler cap must've made him loopey
