Default Experience with R-D Racing

Does anyone have any experience with R-D Racing (http://www.r-dracing.com/) ?

I placed an order for a Crossbar (harness bar) on Sep 12 and I was told it would ship Sep 15. It has not arrived and my last email has not been answered.

Thanks

about 2.5-3 years ago. I think they are different owners now, but when I bought my stuff, they were unbelievable for customer service, and explaining things even on the phone which I never do.

i really liked dealing with them a lot. Hopefully they will have the same service they used to.

I bought a Targa-Truss for my 87 from them about 3 years ago. When it arrived, it didn't fit. I returned it and was told it would be redone so it would fit. Got it back and it still didn't fit. Exchanged some emails and never got a resolution.

So I was basically out $450 for a product that won't fit my car. I don't think I would buy from them again.

When the company first started out, the guy who owned the company (Dave I believe) was absolutely fantastic to deal with. He arranged lots of Group Purchases for forum members and he produced a fantastic series of products. I bought both a Camber Brace and Cross-Bar from him Perfect fit, quick shipping and high quality work.

Once he sold the business, things seemed to go downhill.

Thanks Guys.

So far lots of unanswered emails and phone messages.
This morning, I opened a Dispute case with PayPal.
Hopefully, this will help me get my money back.

The lesson here is ALWAYS pay by credit card (which I did not do) with a vendor you do not know. You can always refute the charge.

Did not know Dave sold the company. It is a shame, he was great to deal with years ago. He was definitely one of the good guys back then.

For the record, I've had great experiences dealing with them. No complaints.

I opened a PayPal Dispute resolution case. They (R-D) have until Oct 3 to respond.
Continued emails and phone messages go unanswered.
I guess we will see what happens.

That says it all as far as I am concerned...

Too many companies willing to take my corvette dollar. No point in dealing with any company that has anything other than a stellar reputation.

This is totally unsat. You should get back on this and bother them. Are they a CF supporting vendor?

From my past experience with the original owner, (Dave) it was a great company and he was from all accounts, a great person to deal with. He seemed to be well-respected on the Forum for all of the C4 and C5 products he offered.

All of problems with my order took place back in Jan and Feb of 2008. When I ordered the Targa-Truss it was part of a Forum Group Purchase. Initially, I was shipped a Cross-Frame by mistake. When I contacted them, it took nearly a month to get a UPS call tag and it was picked up.

When I got the first Targa Truss, it didn't fit. They sent me a return tag and said it would be replaced. What I got back was the same piece that was originally sent and it had been clearly bent and hammered to try and make it fit. It didn't. I had called them a couple times and exchanged some e-mails. By the end of March, it was clear that they would not return emails nor reply to a couple of voice-mails.

Pretty much gave up by the end of April.

As far a CF Supporting Vendor, I believe they were for awhile, at least back in 2008. But they are not in the current supporting vendor list.

Latest update...
I received a UPS tracking number this morning thru PayPal.
It should arrive tomorrow.

Billie also sent me an email apologizing for the delay and mentioned a death in the family. Being the kind hearted soul that I am, I have noo reason to doubt it.

Hopefully, the part is worth the wait.

Final update folks
The cross bar arrived on Friday. I completed the install yesterday.
Overall, nicely made piece. The install instrcutions need some improvement.

It is a shame that I had to resort to PayPal Claim Dispute to get the vendor's attention regardless of their personal situations.
