Default Big Mouth Air Dam Installation Help

I purchased a used BMAD and it didn't come with instructions or hardware. Does anyone know what size bolts or scres I need to purchase to mount it.

Thanks

I just purchased some sheet metal screws. Just find a set that fit the holes of the BMAD. I bought a set of various screw sizes from Harbor Freight, found the closest screw size, predrilled the holes, then screw her in place. I did put a dab of thread lock on the screws for insurance.

Good luck with your BMAD. The install should be easy enough. I printed pictures of the thing, checked how it would fit in location, had a roll of 10 inch wide - 10 ft. long aluminum, cut to length/width, outlined where to cut and drill holes, painted black, installed. Cost? $15 for the roll of aluminum at Home Depot. And my spare time and it looks just like what you probably paid $160 for. I'm on a very tight budget and find that I can do most anything when need to.

Thanks, I wish I had your fabrication skills. I am pretty good, just not as good as the professionals. As with most things I buy for the vette, I bought mine used. The BMAD only set me back $65 so I'm pleased.

No, I do not get any additional clerarance, but I do get a "mouthful" of Air into the air filter. It does work and sits right where the factory inlet is, no additional work, just place it in. Now building your own takes some tweaking if your measurements are off a bit, but since the aluminum is so inexpensive, no problem with redoing if one makes a mistake. What hits on the low front ends, with San Francisco, is the original Air Dams the factory installs, especially on the outer edges. I usuall hit speed bumps, driveways etc at an angle to eliminate this scrapping and damage to the front air dams.
