Pete,

You are the MAN! I can only imagine how nice that is going to be for you. As all ways another top notch job and thread by you. Thanks for posting all this info up, in case I decide to take that project on.

Enjoy. Wait a minute. Your vettes are like new. Whats your first car project using your new lift?

Mike

My 1st is...

The 96 is leaking oil thru the water pump seal. I bought that little tool and will do it by the book. If this sonofabeatch fails and leaks oil again....

...I'm going to take the whole thing apart, remove the WP gear, install a freeze plug and buy an electric water pump.

I also bought SPC upper control arms for the 96 but, just jack stands will do for that project.

I think that is where my LT4 is leaking, that must drive you nuts as you recently did a major rebuild.

Nice lift, I am not familiar with a 2 post, how do both sides balance themselves?

That is bad ***. I think I have a little more vertical height in my garage, but it really won't fit a conventional lift. I will never again do a clutch on the ground unless it is just a honda or something. either that or I need to add a second story to the garage to fit one.

I failed to explain the question Pete. How does each post raise and lower in alignment/position with the other, as it looks like a hydraulic pump, is it a screw type shaft on each post?

It should evenly disperse the hydraulic fluid and lift both sides evenly (you would think)

There is a trick for everything, just like a G spot, I'll find it.

The time I was lifting I was doing short bursts. Looking, checking above, below etc

The time I lowered I pushed the lever all the way down and it came down fast.

I bought more lights for the garage, I'm hooking it up. I need to by Farrah Fawcett's poster and frame it

Pete, make sure you go through the bleeding process a couple of times. You have to crack the valves open at the top of each cylinder and let bleed till there is no air bubbles. I lifted my car about 6" off the ground and did it, once I got all the air out it was find and don't forget to check and make sure you have plenty of oil in the reservoir.

Good pictures and explanation of the process like always. Congratulations on a nice system and if anyone would get a lot of use out of lift like that I know you will.

Check, I have not done it with the car on it. I'll do that today. Thanks

Somebody at another forum asked 'why do you need to put bolts in'?

Pete,
That is a sweet setup. Do you think those anchors would have held with epoxy the first time?

I had no confidence on the 3" garage thickness. There was a noticeable difference on the drilling. Drilling on the first time (3") went in like butter, with the 6,000 PSI it took a long time. I bet my garage is not even 2,500 PSI, thats why is cracking.
