84 interior
i am a newbe here and own an 84 vette. What company or companies are recomended for a complete interior package that fits good? I need a complete interior, weatherstriping and all carpet pieces. I also need a digital dash. thanx for the help.

Oh, BTW, there was a guy in the SF Bay Area here selling an 84 digital dash on craigslist recently for $50. If you don't find that in a search anymore, PM me for a phone number of A guy I know who has several of them for sale. Don't know what he gets for them, but he's fair and honest. He'll ship to you no problem.

Don't buy seat covers from one of the on line corvette stores - way to expensive. I'm having my seats professionally re-upholstered for half the price. I've had 2 corvettes interior completely professionally re-carpeted and reupholstered for about $800.
Get a Willcox weather stripping kit - forum price $358. Do it yourself. Make sure you get the tracks in the pillar, windshield and roof real clean and free of the old stuff. The weather strips fit in these tracks.

thanx for the help, i havent been around for a month as my workload is been crazy lately. I appreciate there are a few internet people not on the level but i am not one of them. I am having camera problems so i will try to scan a pic this week. I would love to buy a whole new interior with everything except the dash. This includes every plastic piece, every carpeted piece and a dash. My dash works but the screen is barely visable unless i hit the dash.

OUCH! If you need a whole new interior includuing carpets and door panels hold onto your hat. The suppliers I have been using ( Corvette central-Ecklers) your looking at about 3 Grand. I am speaking door panels, recovered seats in leather and carpets. Steering wheel and dash pad not included. Also you probably only paid about $2,000 for the whole car. If you paid more you paid to much. That is where the C4 market is right now the 84 being the lowest on the sliding scale. You would do better finding some one parting out a car in good shape with a blown motor. You can however take some short cuts. Use seat covers, try to repair what you have and get used parts. This is the only sane way to do it unless you dont mind a big loss when you go to sell. I will never get my money back on my 84. Not even close at this stage. I plan to hold unto it for a long time before I give it away.

Wilcox is a great place for interior. I have gotten vynil seat covers for 3 cars from them and they look great. Ithink they are around $350 for the set. I can't see getting leather because of the cost, almost double. But, my cars are drivers not show cars. If you door panels are decent, you may be able to just replace the carpet on the bottom. Post some interior pics if you can.
