Default darn heater core

Ok, I learn in a bad way to learn your heater core got a leak. I left for work at around 2 PM. I had finish my laundry and took it with me when I left. ( I hope can tell I was not at my apartment ). Well I got off from work at 11 PM. The second I got home pick up my nice clean laundry and it is all wet.

My whole passenger carpet is wet. To make this shorter I having to redo my laundry and move some tubes around.

So, what way did you learn your heater core started to leak.

My heater core sprung a leak right after i installed my brand new mass backed carpetting. I had to take out the pass. side carpet to properly clean it and to clean the floorboards. Coolant leaves a slimy coating. I did bypass the heater core before i reinstalled the cleaned carpet.

You'll never get it wired back in all neat and purdy like the factory did, though.

Step one: use zip ties
Step two: take you time.
Fact one: the people from the factory been doing this longer them me or you
Fact two: they had it easier then us.

I've read you want to be sure to get a good heater core. Some have replaced their core just for it to leak again in short order. It looks like AC Delco gets good recommendations to stick with.

It's a really big problem in finding it,
but, the biggest problem is repairing it.
If you have someone else do the repair, it's $$$$$$$.
If you try to do it yourself, it's one big PITA.

I wish you lots of luck.
