Default Car cover

So ,I need a car cover. Does anyone have a recommendation. Outside, in MD. Something good but not overly pricey. Rainproof, is this important? Breathable? Scratchpoof? etc ..... Thanks

This is like asking what kind of tires or wax to use. It has been discussed many times and at great length and it boils down to personal opinion. Do a search and see how many threads come up. You will be reading for a while.

Get the best one you can afford. You will spend more money buying cheapie covers that dont really protect than one good one that will last for years. UV rays play hell with covers and the cheapies will shred in short order. Breathable is important especially if you are in a high humidity zone and it will sit outside.

I personally have a NOAH fabric cover which is "waterproof". I am happy with it because it wont allow rain to enter my car but the cover gets completely soaked and moisture still makes it to the cars surface. The breathable part lets it dry quickly and any moisture on the car as well. Since it lets moisture thru it will allow dust to filter thru to the car and I have a car mop to remove it. When ever I take it off I shake out as much dust as possible from the cover.

My cover was about $150 so that puts it in the mid range pricing I guess. I bought it from Zip Corvettes, a supporting vendor here, after they bought out someones stock. There are better covers that dont allow any moisture thru them and are still breathable and their price reflects this. Like I said, buy the best one you can afford.

Good luck!

We've been using a Superweave cover from California Car Cover for 5 yrs now in our Chicago area winters and it's been fantastic. Goes in clean and in spring comes out clean. Is breathable and washable. And as said before you get what you pay for. our $.02

I never understood NOAH , i have one for years and its great !
But being waterproof, that's not true, they advertise it like that
but yes you are 100% right , it gets soaked and lots of moisture get into the car , is that a good thing ? is that because of its breathable feature ? good thing is that when sun comes out it dries really fast but the moisture turns into dust and my car looks like i ran in the desert ...
What's the idea of Noah ??? sometimes i think that waterproof covers can scratch the paint or something but dust created by the noah too ....

Yep, thats why I put the quotes around the waterproof. Its billed as such but definitely is not. I am just happy it wont allow actual water to drip into my car. So far it has held up well.
