goodyear?
someone told a friend of mine that Goodyear is making the GSC tire again? Does anyone know if this is true?

Doubtful, seeing as it's old-tech at this point... I'd be surprised to see that happen.

I just looked on Tire Rack, and they do have a GS-C
It's a "run flat" tire though, so they are very expensive.

The GSC was a great tire but, I drove on Gatorbacks. Gosh, as long it is dry I have not found a stickier tire yet.

My car came with GS-C's. I switched to BFG Super Sport a/s and got better ride and less noise. The Goodyears were cutting-edge in '92 but technology has moved on. They sure looked cool, though- lefts and rights, like shoes.

I'm not sure I'd want a gatorback or GSC again, but if Yokohama made A509's again, I'd buy those- good warm weather tire.
Remember back in the early 90's when $500 for a set of 16" tires was high dollar?
