Well not sure if this is the right forum or not.
Why does it seem the c4 s arent bringing blue book value.
I am a ford guy all the mustangs i have had bring book value or more.
The value on my car its 94 with 40k miles auto is 13,500 in excellent They seem to be bringing mid tens.
The trade in value is 10,700 in fair condition
what is the deal or is my car worth 13?
You have to consider a 94 Mustang books at $5k, while the Vette at $14. Both are old cars but the $14k Vette is not cheap and usually not a daily driver but a toy. A $5k mustang is what the 16 yr old gets.
During these times, Dealers can't get KBB retail on most anything. Most cars from pp sell for about trade in.
Couple all that and the fact there are 1200 Vettes for sale right now on Ebay, with 25% being C4s- a model year 84-96 that is not in demand by any means. People need cash will lower the prices, and now folks get it in their heads that a 94 is worth $6k. Many have bought those $6k cars w/ 110k miles and then spend the other $5-$6k bringing them back to life.
Pretty much with Socals post. Add to that most of the 95 Ford owners would take $4k for their cars, about a 20% drop. Now take 20% off your 94, and it sells for about $10k. Another factor is that you could load up your Visa and buy the Mustang, but most people can't do that with the Vette, and it's hard to find financing on either.
man well im not rich but to buy a corvette with 40k miles perfect paint that runs pefect for ten grand
i guess alot of people would rather have a kia for ten grand
like zr1 said hard to get financing i guess

As with anything, it's worth what a buyer is willing to pay. If that buyer has other, more appealing choices, re price and/or condition, you won't sell your car. It depends how long you're willing to wait for a buyer.
Dealers have gotten fat over the years with people who could care less how much something costs, just how much a month is it. You might be surprised how many people think that way. Of course with the economy the way it is, maybe not.
this car is only one payment
the economy is rough
people would rather watch tv and eat at macdonalds
than have a nice car
500 dollar cars have never been in my driveway

What are you telling us? I mean, I just looked in my checkbook and I still have checks, so I must have money.
