I recently had my front brake calipers and flex lines replaced due to the car pulling to the right on braking. Now the car still pulls to the right and the left caliper will not release fully unless you shake the flex line, just as if it was a bad line. We have replaced the flex line 3 times from two different sources, and bled the brakes all around and at every other accessible point with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
some have suggested their may be something going on at the ABS pump module.
here is one idea put forward, take it somewhere with low traction and jam on the brakes enough to get the ABS to work a couple of times and see if the symptoms change.
stone-your bringing back bad memories!!!mine pulled to the left big time, changed everything up front, finally replaced the abs system located in the rear cargo bin behind the drivers seat.problem solved......easy job..every brake line runs into this part that portions and balances brake fluid and pressure to all wheels. got mine on ebay for under $100 took me 1hr to remove and replace.bled brakes with help of my son by old school method.pumping then hold and open bleeder valve etc.....good luck.
Thanks for all the suggestions - I will try some this weekend. Yes .... I have replaced the front calipers - both sides. I also suspected the ABS pump, but my local mechanic was not that familiar with something this old so we will see if anything changes when I try to make the ABS work on a sandy road surface - with and without the fuse installed.
Interesting post.
My 87 has done the same thing.
I have replaced calipers,hoses,master,pads.
No change,The ABS pump valves will be next.
The L/F valve is sticking, After a short drive
the L/F is so hot you can not touch it while the other three are just warm.
Well I tried the skid tests this weekend and no change in symptoms. The ABS was obviously working but the right wheel did grab more than the left during the skid test. When I removed the ABS fuse the ABS did not work and the right wheel skidded/grabbed more than with the ABS "on". Guess I'll have to start looking for a new ABS unit - any clues where to find one of good quality and reasonable price?

With the ABS fuse out, as far as I know the ABS does not come into play. Are you sure the ABS unit has to be replaced?
got mine on ebay for under $100-I'm telling you based on my dreadful experience with my brake issue. The abs part looks intimidating, but easiest to r&r...good luck...byw-86-90 should fit.
