Man, I'm an idiot. I hadn't noticed that CC had seen and had replied to this thread BEFORE I called them today.
I hope the OP's problem turns out to be lack of communication or something like that. I have been a CC customer several times over the years, been pleased each time, and found that they typically sell the identical item from the identical source for less than some of the other suppliers.

FWIW: The lady I talked to (Kim) said the OP was never charged a fee for cancellation. She said any fees not refunded to the OP had to be generated from his payment source (like the CC company or PayPal). She added that cancellation fees are never charged.
But again, I hadn't noticed another CC rep had seen this thread when I invited CC to resolve. I also notice the OP hasn't returned to this thread in 3 days! I'm kinda wondering if he owes CC an apology?

Reason: clarified my 1st sentence
I do have to agree that, despite my frustrations, the CC people I spoke with each time were very courteous n polite despite the situation. Would bet the mispackaging in my case was from their supplier. Hope all is resolved to all parties satisfaction. Sure I will order from them again
I've had to return some items previously and never had any issues with refunds. Items returned were always credited in full. It has to be a misunderstanding on the OP's part.
The problem is resolved as I ordered the part from Mid America and received it in 4 days. As far as the fee, it was minimal and probably due to the fact that I used Pay Pal. CC knew that so they should have upped the refund to cover the fee to start with. I called Pay Pal direct and got my refund from them so I assumed that they would go to CC for their reimbursement but, 2 Days later, I receive another refund this time from CC and it was less the fee. I'm sure Pay Pal will correct the mistake and deduct it from my account. The bottom-line is that I had to drive around in Florida the entire summer baking like a potato when had they told me they couldn't deliver, I would have shopped elsewhere.

I've reordered through Mid America this time, so wish me luck!!

I have been watching this thread all along. I have Dealt with CC a good bit. I think the OP does need to appolige. CC has never charged me for anything untill it is shipped. If you place an order and a couple of things are Back ordered they ship what they have and bill you for that I have never been billed for back ordered items untill they were shipped. I have cancelled a couple of things that were back ordered and never seen a charge. Greg is right get the story stright. Word of mouth goes a long way.
Sometimes mishaps do happen. We're all human. To date, I've never had an issue with Corvette Central and I've purchased quite a bit of stuff from them lately for the parts bin.
my deal with cc was side screens for my side vents on my 86 Pace. Order one day an was told they were on back order and it would be month.Called back in a month an was told it would be another month. This went on for three months. I called another vender and found out that the manufacturer had broke their mold that makes the part and they didn't plan on replacing it because of low sales. That told me they must not talk to their suppliers. I didn't give them any payment but I thought they should have checked to see why it wasn't shipped,
