Sun visor Solution
I survived through the summer without sun visors, but it nagged at me.
let me state at this point that I am not aiming for any NCRS ranking, so please don't flame me for what I'm about to recount.
In my area we have a pick-it-yourself junkyard called Crazy Ray's. I paid them a visit and started looking for some C4s to 'donate' some sun visors. Well, they had a shortage of C4s on that day, but I found a (gasp) Chrysler Sebring Convertible that had a pair of pristine black vinyl padded sunvisors waiting to be harvested. Unlike most other cars I had inspected, the Sebring's visors were the right length, albeit a tad wide, and had the same type of 'spike' mounting as my '93 C4.
I removed them and took them to the cashier, parted with $14 and headed for my car. I couldn't help feeling that someone from NCRS was following me, eager to 'terminate with extreme prejudice' if they got wind of my intentions.

It took less than an hour to slip the old Chrysler rods out of the visors and slip the Corvette rods in (The Corvette rods are slightly thicker, but they work).
Result: Great working sun visors that look like they were meant for the Corvette. But I can't shake the feeling that the AC-Delco or NCRS police are looking for me.

Thanks for the tip, though. Other heretics like us might find it useful.

I have never seen 1 C-4 at Ray's either in Mt. Airey or Jessup.

This is my first attempt at posting pix, so wish me luck
Here's the sunvisors with one completed and one as I got it:

Sorry- the sun visors don't have the light-up vanity mirrors. BUT, I thought about the last time I actually used a light up mirror....I couldn't remember!! (I still have the wires and lights tucked in under the plastic header cover. So If I came into money and wanted to spend $200, I could get the lights to work on OEM visors.)
These sun visors have a much more useful feature (IMHO), they have a pocket in each one where you can store parking tickets!!

Of course I was joking about the NCRS police. I've only had this car for 9 months. It needed so much work when I got it (new top, did it myself; new wheel bearings, did it myself; new window sweeps, steering wheel, etc.) that I would have gone broke using OEM parts and/or paying others to do the work. For those who can afford to keep their Vettes all original, 'I salute you.' But I can drive this 18 year old classic anywhere and take pride in the fact that if it looks good, it's the result of my sweat and busted knuckles!!
And if someone makes fun of my sunvisors, I'll hit 'em with my non-OEM lug wrench!
Thanks for the encouragement! This forum has saved me a bundle in the past 9 months and I hope this is useful for someone!

I would like to see some pics of the final install. Do the lighted vanity mirrors work?
