Why do some guys get themselves so bent up about someone asking a question? New members show up all the time. How do they know if a question has been asked before? How do they know where to look? Long time members might even ask a question that's been asked before. I do. So what? Most of us do forget things. If you get your shorts twisted over repetitive questions here, don't read the post. Simple.

You replaced the carpet in your Vette with linoleum?
Jeez....I ignore a thread for 24 hours and it takes all kinds of interesting turns.

does anyone know what a Chevrolet Service Dept would charge to change a tail light bulb???

Hey guys, I also had this problem when I first got my 87. The outer left tail light bulb was out and I definitely chose one of the harder ways to get to it. I went from under the car through all the wires, brackets, bars etc. (could barely see) and just pulled the bulb from there and replaced(not as easy as it sounds lol). But anyway, a year later after having changed the fuel pump I now realize that it can be done easier through the gas fill area. You have to remove the lid, then take out the rubber piece under that covering the filler neck and you should have plenty of room to get around. I tried the license plate method but that only worked for me barely with the inner tail light bulbs(my arms are bigger than avg person) because of the spare tire bracket in the way and other things.

Local auto repair shop quoted 1/2 hr labor
I was quoted $45 for half hour labor plus $3.95 for the bulb at a small shop. The Chevrolet dealership quickly quoted $95 labor only. Call me lazy, but , I value my blood supply!
