hey guys if you checked out my post in the parts section you'll know i'm looking into buying a front corvette license plate cover for my vette and i found one but the seller says he won't ship to canada only within the usa. i know some of you have dealt with him his userid is redneck43. anyhow i was wondering why would he not ship the item to canada yet he'd be willing to ship anywhere close to the washington/british columbia border? i just wish i can buy the cover seems like i can't as i don't really know anyone in the states who i can have it sent to.
if you have any suggestion to this please let me know.
I cant help you on the shiopping issue! get a member to buy it for you and ship it up as a present! the hassle of importing is the paperwork alot of ppl are too afraid of the forms that need to be filled out and then there's the inspection fee's and duty and tax to be paid by our great goverment!
of the things i have bought from E-bay from folks in the US everyone one of them must go to a customs agent and you will most likely pay an extra $15 just for the privledge of haveing them allow it into Canada. trust me get a member to buy it (uncle joe) and have him/her ship you your b-day present on the declaration just put present.
thats what I meant YOU pay for it and have it shipped to a member and get them to ship to you, I am sure there are some kind folks here who would do that for you! the other option is a PITA but does work get a P.O. box just south of the border when I lived in kelowna (westbank actually) we would pop down to Omak all the time for something to do, VAN is a little farther up but would make for a nice drive to get away for the day get a PO box set up by phone if you can just south of the border you only need to keep it for the month and the cost is really cheap.
Delta is right. In order to ship UPS, you need to have three copies of an invoice(which believe it or not people don't know what an invoice is!)
It also costs a bit more than standard domestic shipping.
I deal with international deliveries daily and it is a pain in the butt!
You can try Delta's idea of a PO Box, but remember, UPS doesn't deliver to PO Boxes, so it would have to go Parcel Post.
Or have somebody who lives near the border get it shipped to them and he can throw it over the fence(just kidding of course!).
Hmmmm....I've been looking to buy some cigars.....
I've shipped to the Netherlands using USPS and it was no biggie to fill out the little card explaining what was inside, I can't see how Canada would be that much of a hassle.
When I was putting my 78 Z28 back to stock I sold some stuff to someone in Canada. I shipped it through the U.S. Post Office with no hassles for me or on the receiving end.
