Relearn Procedure ???
When the ECU/ECM has been pulled & repaired, is it appropriate to have the keys "re-learn" their settings?
I read somewhere to do a 5 on/off cycle & wait 30 minutes with the key in the ignition.
True or false?
I had the ECU/ECM repaired & afterwards the engine would not start, even though it was starting fine prior to the rebuild.
HELP !!!

The only relearning process I am aware of is that if the battery is disconnected, the ECM "relearns" some of its fine tuning parameters the next few times you drive the car. Did you try miore than one key? Was any other work done?
If you replaced the ECM, did you transfer the mem-cal chip into your new one?
Does the engine crank and not fire, or nothing at all happens?
Beyond that, you have to determine whether the no-start condition is fuel-related or spark-related.

Drove the car into the garage, shut off.
When ECM came back from rebuild/resolder, the engine cranks fine & smell of fuel. No start.
What's a "Mem-Cal" chip?
The PROM is the original, minus the "HyperTech" conversion. Tried with & without, but no difference.
Only thing different I did notice, was both cooling fans run & didn't use to.

The mem-cal (memory-calibration) is the module that is installed in the top of the ECM. If you had the ECM reprogrammed, the PROM is in this module.
Suggest your next move be to pull codes, you can do it w/o a scanner, look in the search function of the forum for several explanations.

Call the shop that repaired the unit and have them fix it. It's plug and play.

I don't want to bad mouth anybody, but my experience here with AES / National Parts, has been less than pleasant.
Module arrived a few minutes ago & I'll try it again this evening. (fingers crossed)
