Default Corvette problem

Hey guys. Im new here and dont know a lot about cars, so I decided to turn to someone who most likely knows a great deal more than me.

Ill start off by stating that my vette in a 90.. Just in case anyone needs to know that info. I havnt had too many problems with it since I got it about 5 months ago, and it only has 90 k miles on it... Yesterday I turned my car off to go into a store, and when I came out noticed that the antennae didnt retract. I got into the car, and the interior lights wont work, and also the control panel for the ac/ heat wont work. If anyone knows what the problem could be any feedback would be appreciated. Its stressing me out.

First thing is check all fuses for the antenna and the interior lights. If it's not that you'll have to start trying to track down a short on the interior lights.

The antenna possibly has stripped it's ribbon inside the motor. You need to turn the ignition switch on and turn the radio on and listen for the motor running. If it runs it's most likely the ribbon. If it doesn't it could be a relay or possibly fuse.

If you have the cliamte control ac/heat there is an easy fix you can do. It has worked everyone that has done it as far as I know.

I'll look for it and see if I can post it here for you. It's really easy to do if you have half a brain.

I'm not an expert but this should give you something to play with until the experts show up. Just be patient, it's the Holidays.

Alright sounds good. I appreciate it a lot. I figured it was probably something to do with a fuse, or a wiring issue.. But like I said, Im not exactly car savvy.

It sounds like a ground issue. Clean the battery terminals and see if that makes any difference. Check for loose or corroded wires in that area while you have the battery disconnected.

Not sure about the a/c - heat, but the antenna and interior lights may be due to a defective switch in the door. If that switch is stuck in the closed position (as it would be when the door is closed) then the interior lights won't come on when you open the door and the antenna may not retract even when the radio is switched off.

Since all this equipment failed at once, look for what is common to all accessories. Check for a blown fuse. If that is the problem replace and see if it blows again. I had a car that would blow the fuse on the AC system every so often, nothing wrong, I guess the fuse just got worked hard then it would fail.
